Meet Khushnoor Kaur : Redefining Art With Music

Khushnoor Kaur from Jalandhar has had an everlasting hidden passion for singing and initially started singing at a very tender age .Her singing and a massive  trajectory redefined her vision to touch many souls through the power of her voice significantly after her selection for The Megh Malhaar Season Five in 2025, where she was amongst the finalists lists.Khushnoor is known for her effortless musical flow, blending all  elements with Hindi vocals .Her musical influences are deeply rooted in her definition of frequently exploring the  themes of Life delivered with an intuitive intelligence and a passionate style that resonates with a wide audience . Khushnoor has always emphasized on the importance of creating timeless melodies that resonate with audiences across all age groups .In addition to her music, Khushnoor has embraced content creation through her symphonies of songs particularly through short-form videos on platforms like YouTube , Instagram to connect with all and to continue to spread happiness. Q)How has your journey in music motivated you to pursue music as passion?

Ans:- Firstly I started singing when I was about 3-4 years old and I also remember that first song which was sung by Miss Pooja (Kalkate to Pakhi),it was the first song I used to sing. Year by year, I started singing in school functions like annual functions and also prayers.

There is another reason I started singing as I used to have long conversations with our old ones about the culture, languages, songs ,etc. So ,when I started listening to folk songs it motivated me to preserve them for generations and generations with my voice.Also listening to the different music genres I came to know that who easily one can express his/ her emotions. At last music helped me a lot with my sufferings and to change my personality.

Q)How do you feel music can transform lives ?

Ans:-  In my opinion, music has most unique and strong power with itself. Music is one of the other arts with which we can express our emotions and feelings easly. A writer writes their thoughts on the blank papers but music gives them a life. Music helps to transform lives with various ways such as the song which holds powerful words and composition can motivates you whenever you feel low. Even one can know their personality with the songs one sings which describes how one sees the world. "Sometimes composition and words of a song can change your way to think which I think helps you to transform your lives..."

Q)Which is your favourite genre of music and how can it impact human lives ?

Ans:- My personal favourite genre of music is Sufi and Folk songs. Sufi songs and Qawalies hold the reality of how human nature works in different situations and the path to reach your Soul to God. We can also describe them in a word 'Evergreen' because we are listening to them from the period the human life started as we believe Devi Saraswati a goddess of music. Second genre, folk songs give us the picture of how beautiful our culture was.I think different genres of music hold different Emotions and Power.

Q) What is that one thing that motivates you in life ?

Ans:- When I see everyone listening peacefully and having a beautiful precious smile on there faces it gives me more motivation to sing by heart.

Q)What message do you wish to give to aspiring singers ?

Ans:-  You all have unique voices .In between you never lose your confidence by listening to what others say. You are the one who knows how much you have struggled and how much has one been through in life. At the end ,I would say don't copy the way others sing just sing in whatever way you want because " Your music is the only way which makes You Different ...."????
